Psoriasis is a chronic, non-contagious, immune-mediated inflammatory skin disease that is often associated with systemic manifestations. Clinical presentations include erythematous scaly plaques, pain, pruritus, dystrophic nails, arthritis and even ocular involvement. The cause of disease remains unknown. It has a strong genetic component but environmental factors also play an important role in the presentation of this disease.
